Our Operations
Petrus Resources Ltd. is a publicly traded oil and gas company. We are focused on property exploitation, strategic acquisitions and risk-managed exploration in the province of Alberta.
Our core area, Ferrier, is a manufacturing style, low-risk resource play where ownership and control of critical transportation and processing infrastructure provides a very low-cost structure. The asset is a liquids rich Cardium gas play, with rates of return rivaling some of the top plays in North America.
This asset is an extension of our core Ferrier area. It is an active area where producers, including Petrus, have been ramping up drilling and seeing excellent results. We have built a strong position of undeveloped land in North Ferrier and see this area as having significant potential for long term growth.
Our Thorsby asset is located in the central part of the province. It is a more mature property that delivers stable, low decline production and generates steady cashflow with minimal requirement for ongoing capital investment. Petrus’ land position in this area is concentrated and ownership of infrastructure provides both control and low operating costs.
Our properties located in the foothills of Alberta are a more minor area for the company. These low decline gas and Cardium oil assets generate good cash flow with limited capital investment.
A newer area for the company, Kakwa is an early-stage Dunvegan oil play. Petrus drilled our first well here in 2020 and will continue to evaluate the area for potential further long term development.
